Ali Al-Mansouri

An Iraqi folk poet from southern Iraq, from Basra governorate. Born in Basra on September 4, 1985. Holds two bachelor's degrees: one in Science from the College of Science at the University of Basra, and the other in Drilling Fluid Engineering from the University of Texas. Employed at the Basra Oil Company. He began writing poetry in 2009, starting with the Association of Folk Poets, where he participated in many poetry festivals. He later took part in several competitions, most notably the Poet of Iraq competition, in which he won first place in Basra governorate. The competition was broadcast on Al-Baghdadiya channel, and his poem was titled "The Wound of Separation".
